Whether you are newly diagnosed or have had diabetes for years, we are here for you. We understand that having diabetes can sometimes be a little overwhelming.
So while you're a patient at Salina Regional Health Center we want to help you and your family learn more about diabetes and answer any questions you may have. In addition to your physician and nurses, our staff includes:

What Diabetes Education Can Do For You
Research shows that diabetes education can prevent, delay or reverse some complications of diabetes. Diabetes Education can help you learn more about:
- The type of diabetes you have
- High blood sugar/low blood sugar
- How illness or surgery affects your blood sugar
- Diabetes medications
- How to check your blood sugar
- Your meal plan in the hospital and how you can have a flexible plan at home
- How to prevent the complications of diabetes
- Community resources
- How to find out about reimbursement for supplies and medications
Diabetes Education Resources
While you're a patient in the hospital, anyone can request that one of our staff visit you about diabetes. We can discuss specific topics and answer any questions you have.
