PET/CT Imaging
Salina Regional's Biograph mCT positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) system is designed to produce accurate, high-resolution images for a wide range of patients.
The system uses iterative reconstruction technology, which produces a significant reduction in image noise with a 30 to 60 percent reduction in radiation exposure depending on the test.
A fourth detector ring also speeds PET scan times with additional image quality benefits when studying the biochemical, functional and molecular processes taking place in the body.
Solutions for cancer diagnosis and treatment planning:
Biograph mCT offers superb visualization of the tiniest cancer lesions. Its advanced software provides amazing molecular clarity, image accuracy and precise localization. This allows physicians to better detect, characterize and monitor various stages of disease.
Solutions for heart disease:
Advanced cardiac software allows physicians to perform precise studies of the heart. Biograph mCT's technologies work to acquire 3D images that accurately represent molecular processes within the heart for more accurate treatment decisions.
Solutions for neurological disorders:
Biograph mCT's neurology software enables physicians to precisely map structures and visualize metabolic processes in the brain. This can be especially important in diagnosing and treating Alzheimer's, dementia and other neurological disorders.
Solutions for claustrophobia:
A larger opening (78 centimeters in diameter), shorter tunnel and a wider table affords greater comfort to patients undergoing an exam and eases the feeling of being closed-in. Biograph mCT also can accommodate larger patients up to 500 lbs.
Solutions for children:
Biograph mCT offers significant reduction in radiation exposure with quicker scan times, which can be an especially important consideration for children. The technology provides accurate, high-resolution images that are safe and more comfortable for people of all ages.
